So What Now?

You ever notice that sometimes life just isn't all it's cracked up to be? Whether you're a Christian or not things go wrong. Friends aren't everything they say they are...your health isn't what it should be...money is tight....your husband or wife wants out....whatever it is...it is! So, who do you think starts trying to get a foothold in your life because he knows things stink right now? That's right...the old liar himself...the devil. So what now?...

Well, tonight I walked outside...looked up to the sky....and realized something. It doesn't matter how bad your day has been...your week has been...or your life has been...if you have Jesus in your life everything will be okay. Everything may change...but it will be okay. The Lord has a plan for our lives. We don't know what it is we just have to trust. That's big. Trust in the unknown...the unseen. Sometimes...that's just how it is. Hold on to faith...hold on to trust...hold on to hope...hold on to Jesus.

Sitting here thinking about all of this Jeremiah came to mind. I turned to Jeremiah 17 and read verses 5-8 ~

5 This is what the LORD says:
“Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans,
      who rely on human strength
and turn their hearts away from the LORD.
6 They are like stunted shrubs in the desert,
with no hope for the future.
They will live in the barren wilderness,
      in an uninhabited salty land.
7 “But blessed are those who trust in the LORD
and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.
8 They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
   Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit."

This is some of what the notes in my Bible say;

Two kinds of people are contrasted here; those who trust in human beings and those who trust in the Lord. Trust in the first and you have no strength to draw on. Trust in the Lord and you will have abundant strength, not only for your needs but for needs of others.

It can be hard when everything is coming out of left field and hitting you all at once. But, you...and I...need to stand strong and believe in the one who gave us new life.

So...I guess the questions to myself and to you are these...

Are we gonna let the devil in to get that hold on us that he so desperately wants? Or still yet...

Do we want to be a stunted little shrub with no hope, with nothing...and no ONE...to hold on to? Or the best one...

Do you  want to trust in the LORD and be blessed and have hope...confidence...and a strong hand that will hold on to you?

Trusting = not living in fear. It's like free-falling. At first, it scared the heebeegeebees out of me, then it was liberating! It is a "muscle" I am strengthening!

I love this:"8 They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water"- that is so refreshing!

I'm carrying that with me today:)

Yes Chelle, like bluecottonmemory, I too am strengthening 'my muscle'. I say each day in my prayers, "Lord I trust you". Once I have said it, I feel a sense of peace.

It is awesome to know that God has entrusted to us so much.
He knows that we CAN do all things by His grace, so He’s trusting IN US, to trust IN HIM.
May we always be grateful, thanking Him, for His continual assurance of His presence.

Great post Chelle, It's amazing that when we look up, to His sky, we feel closer to Him and He never fails to 'speak!'

Rich Blessings to you.

One thing we can't do is live in fear for God did not give us the spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind...LET this mind that be in Christ be also in you...AMEN

Thanks for sharing my sister..

Hi Chelle,
Good word for today! All people trust in something, usually it is material stuff or like you mentioned another person. Unfortunatly these things will fail eventually. When we pit our trust in God, even though we cannot see Him, He will come in and support us in amazing ways.

One plan that God has for all of His children is for us to tell others about Him and the salvation that is available to all. This, I have noticed, is something a lot of Christians do not like to do; evangelize. It is something that I am working on. I am very shy and don't do well in large groups or even trying to tall to a stranger, but God is good and He is working on me.

Blessings sister,

Chelle,

I choose to trust God His plan for us is greater than anything we could imagine, He is doing His greatest work when He feels so far from us. Putting our trust in human beings will always dissapoint us because we are human and we are flawed, but God is perfect and that is who I choose to put my trust in.

Blessings to you Chelle.
