Does Anyone Care?

Do you ever feel helpless...think no one cares? Sometimes your life just jumps up and slaps you and you realize that you are helpless to change situations you find yourself in. It could be that you're the reason for the situations. Could be that someone else is. Or maybe, it's a combination of the two. Whatever the case...at this point there is nothing you can do to change it and no one cares...or so you think. That's really not so. Things can change...anything is possible.

There is a verse that says this...

Matthew 19:26 (NASB)
And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

And though you may not think so...someone does care.

Another verse I like is ...

1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Though it may be hard for you to wrap your mind around it all...there is Someone who cares. He cares about what you're going through and how you feel. He cares about every aspect of your life. What you consider to be the small stuff and what you think to be the big stuff. Really it's all the same to Him. Nothing is to big or to small for Him to care about. You know why? Because He loves you. He loves you with all of your problems...your doubts...your fears...your restlessness...your lack of faith...your feelings of helplessness...your sadness...your lack of trust...your general overall feelings of depression. WOW!! Isn't that a list? I could probably think of some more things to add but really...why do that!? The point is this...

No matter how far down you let yourself sink...if you will only look up for an instant, you will see the hand of Jesus reaching down to you! If you reach out, just a bit, He will take hold of your hand and pull you to Him. I know that sometimes, that can be a really hard thing to do. You have to set aside your doubts and fears and take the step. Jesus is always telling us to not be afraid. Kind of like when Peter saw Jesus walking on the water. Peter had to take the first step out of the boat. And yes...he did get scared and start to sink. But what happened then? Jesus reached out His hand and took Peters hand and kept him from sinking. That's exactly what Jesus will do for you if you give Him the chance. You just have to take the first step. Reach up from the place you are and take His hand.

Matthew 14:27-33 (NLT)
27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”
28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”
 29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said.
So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.
31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”
32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. 33 Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed.

So today it's your choice. Stay down where you are or...take that first step. Reach up and take the hand of Jesus! He cares!!

Hi Chelle - great post. Its the whole looking up and seeing His hand thing that we have to keep doing. If Jesus did not care, He would not be there, but He is.
God bless

I'm so thankful that Jesus does care and He is always there. This world is going to let us down, but Jesus has promised to never leave us or forsake us. That's an awesome promise!

This remeinds me of one of my favorite verses. . .
"So do not be afraid, for I am with you' do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you' I will uphold you with my right Hand." Isaiah 41:10

I've looked up for that Hand many times and it's always there :)

What a great encouragement, Chelle! Just to know that His hand is extended to us anytime!! That painted a beautiful picture in my heart. You are right, anything is subject to change...we just have to let Him be in control.
Thank you for this beautiful post!!!

Sis when I have moments like these I am reminded of how in the book of Psalms the Lord says that my name is engraved in His hands which means I am forever before Him...I love the post and I thank you for sharing your heart sis...

Great post Chelle,
I love how Jesus encouraged Peter to have faith and come to Him but also that he IMMEDIATELY rescued him when he faltered..it seems that sometimes we'd rather sit and wallow in the misery though, when Jesus wants to rescue us immediately.
