Prayer

Today has been a crazy day. Actually, it all started about 9p.m. last night. My Mom called to tell me that Dad had been having chest pains since Saturday but decided not to let anyone know about it until Sunday evening. He then refused to go to the hospital. So...I received the phone call. My Mom still believes that Dad would do anything for me...mostly he would. Well, after some fast talking...with a little guilt mixed in...they went to the hospital. As it turns out he is still there. They claimed he has not had a heart attack...but because of all the pain they started doing tests. We will know for sure tomorrow what the extent of it all is because they are going to do an angiogram at 8a.m. pst. Dad has had two different heart surgeries in the past with a total of 8-10 bypasses...we can't remember for sure how many each time. The doc believes that they all are just giving out. His heart is beating too slow. They checked for veins they could use in his legs if they have to do surgery again but said there is only one good vein. They will have to use veins from his chest if they can find good ones. At this point my Dad says he won't have the surgery. But, he will give them his final decision after the test tomorrow. They also did a brain scan because of his memory loss but say it all looks good. The memory loss could be a result of blood not getting where it needs to go because of his heart.

So...the point of this post is to ask you all to pray for him (Red) and my Mom (Bev) and my brother (Mike). He is with them but is not a Christian. My parents are so that's the good part. They live in California so I can't go until we know more of what is happening with him.

Hopefully this all makes sense and I didn't ramble too much. Thank you all for your prayers.

Oh, where in California, I live in Simi Valley, Ca. My husband I travel this state a lot in our ministry of member care with New Tribes Mission. I so understand your concern. My husband had a massive heart attack at 27, it was the early years of bypasses which they finally decided to do. His bypass is still functioning along with five stints. We love serving over seas but his heart condition drove us home to seek a stateside ministry. I remind myself often, God started Ace heart beating before His mother even was aware of him. God will not stop it till He chooses. Praying.

Hi Chelle,
Did you think of asking a prayer team from Bethel to make a visit and pray over him? I know they do this stuff all the time.

Just a suggestion. :)

Love and prayers my friend; I hope he and your mother had a restful night and that God will open his heart to the doctor's suggestions for treatment.
