That's the chorus to a song I heard today. Just listening to this today cements those words right into my very soul! Do you ever hear something, or read something, that just makes the Lord so real to you? I don't know what it is about music...but God just allows that avenue to really speak to me.
As I go through my life...since meeting Jesus as my Savior...I have noticed that there are days when I don't feel a thing. And that's normal. The Bible tells us that feelings isn't what it's all about. But, I have learned that when I'm like that if I listen to music, or read His Word...and allow it to go where I need it to go...that I get rejuvenated! My soul feels lighter...my mood gets brighter...the Lord takes control of the mess in my head and I realize that everything is going to be okay. I am going to make it!!
Then there are those days that you're feeling it. Everything is going good but physically it's a battle. That's me today. I'm not looking for sympathy just saying that there can be reasons other than spiritual that you need the Lord to lift you up. To give you a soul lift! My A-Fib has kicked in the last few days along with all the symptoms that go with it. I don't like it but it does make me talk to the Lord a lot more. And I realize even more that...He is my everything! The Lord is who gets me through this and every other trial in life.
Is the Lord you're everything today? What are you going through that lets you know that you need Him more than you have ever needed Him before? Whatever it is, ask Him to help you with it. Then listen to some good soul lifting music and praise Him!
Psalm 150
1 Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heaven!
2 Praise him for his mighty works;
praise his unequaled greatness!
3 Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;
praise him with the lyre and harp!
4 Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with strings and flutes!
5 Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
praise him in his mighty heaven!
2 Praise him for his mighty works;
praise his unequaled greatness!
3 Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;
praise him with the lyre and harp!
4 Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with strings and flutes!
5 Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

Beautiful post! Yes sometimes I flip out if I can't feel Jesus and He would tell me that I need to be still and not let fear block Him.
Sometimes you feel good, but then the enemy likes to take away your happiness in the Lord.
I find now that when I feel down, I sing my heart out in worship and I feel lighter and God's peace!
Blessings ♥
Hi Chelle,
lovely post, I know exactly what you mean about music, I experience it too. The song 'How great is our God' takes me into the presence of God immediately. He is my life. When you say that A-fib sets in with symptoms, I don't know what that is but what came into my mind is that is exactly what it is, a fib as in a lie. If it is a sickness then we are told that the Lord heals us from all our diseases. God bless you
Hi Chelle,
You hit the nail right on the head with this post, my dear sister. It is when we least "feel" like it that we MUST reach out for His Word, whether it be from hearing it in a song, singing it in praises, or from reading the Bible.
I think the Lord is showing us that our relationship with Him must be active (interactive). That requires effort on our part. And it can be an effort when we are not feeling so great, but that is when we tend to listen best...just like how water tastes so much better when we are really thirsty.
Thank you Chelle, for sharing this...many Christians maybe feel as if it is only them who struggle this way...it is a common struggle.
Thank the Lord HE is not just a "common" God!
~God bless~ Lisa
I found your blog from Never Forseaken's blog, and I'm glad I did.
What you've discussed in this post is one of the things I am attempting to learn each day - and that is to make the Lord the center of all my daily life. It's not always easy. However, I keep "plugging along" the best I can because without the Lord, I have no life at all.
Blessings to you!
