Wait Quietly Before Him

Psalm 62:1-2 NLT

1 I wait quietly before God,
      for my victory comes from him.
 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
      my fortress where I will never be shaken.

Just sitting and waiting quietly is a hard thing to do! My mind starts wandering not long after I try to "sit quietly". I ask myself why is it so hard to do that? With good intentions I read my bible and pray then...try to wait. It's hard but I think maybe with practice it will become easier. I'm pretty sure that I lose out on some amazing times with God because my mind is always rushing on to new thoughts. Today, I'm going to commit to reading the Word, praising and praying, and then listening for a response. Missing out is something I'm tired of doing!! If I want to see more victories in my life then I believe this is one thing I need to do.

Psalm 62:5-8 NLT

 5 Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
      for my hope is in him.
 6 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
      my fortress where I will not be shaken.
 7 My victory and honor come from God alone.
      He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
 8 O my people, trust in him at all times.
      Pour out your heart to him,
      for God is our refuge.

God is our Rock...our Safe Place. Cry out to Him. He wants to do more than you could possibly imagine.

Waiting is a very hard/difficult task. I am often impatient until I read and reread these beautiful psalms.

Amen! Waiting is hard, but it is always worth it!

For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end
and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
it] will certainly come
and will not delay.

I love this verse in Habakkuk 2:3

Waiting can be the most difficult yet rewarding moments of life. Be still...

Silence--waiting and listening--is one of the spiritual disciplines that I always overlook. Thank you for reminding me again of how much I need it.

Hi ladies~looks like we all agree waiting is hard but if we can just be still...the outcome will be worth it! Thank you for all your comments.
You all bless me.

Hi Chelle - waiting is hard for me too - my mind starts to wonder. I think I've missed out on too much that way - time to train the mind!
God bless
