Matthew 14:22-33 (New Living Translation)

Jesus Walks on Water
22 Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. 23 After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. 24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. 25 About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”
27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”
28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”
 29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said.
So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.
31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”
32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. 33 Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed.

Rules...I told someone earlier this week that I was born to break them! In the past I believed that. But...the rules I chose to break then were GOD'S rules. Now I believe GOD is saying to me that I need to break the world's rules. I started out my day breaking a rule. A rule that I have made for myself. A friend of mine told me that she thinks when you're depressed, down or just having a bad day and you think you should stay home from church, that's when you need to go. I think so too. So...I made a rule for myself, if I wasn't sick and had no real reason to not go to church...I would go...

Today I chose to break that rule and stay home. You know funny things happen when you don't do what you know you should. Sometimes they are good things. I had turned on the radio and was listening to a Christian channel. Next thing I knew I was singing along. They call the program that was on, Sunday Morning Worship. I stopped the things I was doing and just started listening to the radio and "Worshiping". The "funny" thing that happened was...regardless of the fact that I chose to stay home, GOD still had a plan for my life today. The more I worshiped the more HE made HIMSELF real to me. Then HE spoke something to my heart...

"You are MY child and you are forgiven." WOW!! I know that already but sometimes it's a hard concept for me to grasp. Then HE spoke to me, "You need to start breaking the rules. Rules the world has set down. You need to break the rules of the world and make my MY rules count. You need to step out on the water and do the things I need you to do." Then this story of Peter walking on the water came to my mind. So...I thought about all of this for awhile. Then I got on my computer and looked up the story...

It's an amazing story. A story of not only faith but also truth. How the LORD won't leave you alone. If HE asks you to do something HE will be there with you. We don't need to be afraid to do HIS will. All we have to do is have faith. JESUS is coming back soon. We all have family and friends that aren't going to Heaven unless they change their lives and accept CHRIST. We may not be the one's chosen to tell them but GOD has chosen us to tell some. That's why everyone of us has to be willing to tell the people in our part of this world about HIM. We also have to study HIS word and spend time alone with HIM. It's an incredible experience when you do that. Not only is it good for you, it will help you when an opportunity arises to tell someone else about JESUS.

So...start breaking some rules!! Step out in faith and believe!! Trust that JESUS is there to help you walk across the water. Just don't look down. Keep your eyes on HIM...your LORD and SAVIOR. HE won't let you down no matter the circumstance!!

Remember...If HE brings you to your knees...It's good for you!!
