Thankful!

God does answer prayer! I know you all know He does but I just wanted to say it again!

This morning before going to work I opened my bible and read a few scriptures in Psalms. The next thing I knew I was looking at Psalm 23...one of my favorites. I tend to read that when things aren't going real well. It somehow calms me and gives me peace. Then I left for work. Without to much detail this is kind of how it went...

My day really didn't start very good and as it went along it just kept getting worse. About 2 p.m. I finally didn't think I could take the way I felt any longer and just asked the Lord to please help me to get through the day. As I was praying, Psalm 23 came to mind again so I just simply prayed that. Something amazing happened. All the stuff I had been experiencing all day...eased up. I am very thankful!

So tonight I am reading Psalm 62 and 63.

Psalm 62:5 and 63:8 are two of my favorites...

Psalm 62:5

New Living Translation (NLT)
Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him.

Psalm 63:8

New Living Translation (NLT)
I cling to you;
your strong right hand holds me securely.

So tonight I am...

waiting quietly and clinging to Him, so thankful for His strong right hand...and that He holds me securely in it.

Blessings for a much better day today Chelle! It seems some days our minds can be cloudy and the day disappears without truly being thankful for everything we have. Psalms is a wonderful book of praise to begin and end each day with! :)

Blessings and hugs today GF!

Praying His peace stays with you throughout the workweek Chelle.
God is so amazing how He leads us to His Word, and then changes us.

I used to work during the summer at a casino (14 years ago)...It became so difficult after awhile to even walk in there. So the Lord had me leaave a bit earlier so I could just sit in my car and read Psalms before my shift began. One day I asked God to send me angels to help me get through the darkness...That day a clean cut young couple came through my line, and both had the biggest (goofy) grins on their faces...they pointed at my WWJD bracelet and one said to the other "look at that", then looked at me and (somehow) smiled wider...they didn't fit with the rest of the crowd there one bit...they weren't even gambling! I had peace to get through that day. God always looks out for His children, wherever we may be.

Stay strong and be encouraged Chelle, God has His plan for you, and that plan is to prosper you and give you hope and a future(Jer. 29:11)

I've had those kind of days, Chelle, where everything just keeps piling up until you think you're going to burst if you hold it in any longer. My mind starts to wonder where God is in all that mess and then I look up, smile and say, "Oh, there you are." Just doing that reminds me that there's more outside whatever I'm going through that day and that no matter what, God is right there with me. It's when I think I'm going through it all alone that I get overwhelmed. As soon as I remember that God is near, it all lifts off of me.

Thank you, Lord, for being right there with Chelle when she's going through a rough spot.

Thank you for this personal little blog! I love Psalm 23. I feel a bit ashamed during reading. My day had gone better if I had taken more time for quiet time with God.

Hi Chelle - that is one of the things I love about God's word, its ability to to calm us, to strengthen us, to come to mind when we need it. Its humbling and I too am thankful for it. God bless
