Where Will You Be?

When it's all said and done . . . where will you be?

Life on earth is uncertain. We go along everyday thinking we are going to take that next breath. In fact . . . we don't even think about it. Breathing is just a natural thing. We breathe in . . . we breathe out. We say goodnight . . . go to bed . . . fully expecting to see, or talk to, everyone we love in the morning. But really we can't be certain of that. Only God knows when you won't take that next breath. Nothing in life is certain.

Sometimes we get lucky and God gives us a wake up call. He allows things to come into our life . . . just to remind us . . . that our next breath is not a certainty. Really, that can be a good thing if we let it be. No one is guaranteed tomorrow . . . but do we usually think about it? No. We just do the same thing everyday. We live our normal lives. But . . . what do you do if something happens and you suddenly realize that your next breath is not a guaranteed thing?

Many years ago I wrote a story titled;

If This Were My Last Day On Earth

When I wrote that story I was a different person. I won't tell you everything I said in it but I will tell you this . . . everything I said in it was a lie. Basically I wrote that it wouldn't be any big deal. I wouldn't treat my family any different and my last day would be one big party. I received an A+ on that paper. What I didn't write was that thinking about it . . . it scared me. I knew if it was my last day I would go to hell. But, it didn't scare me enough to do anything different. Today . . .

I consider every breath a gift from God. He gives life and He takes it back. It's His choice. The difference in then and now is . . . when I take that last breath I won't be going to hell. Heaven is my destination. And, I don't need to know when my last day is going to be because it won't make a difference. The important thing is where I will be going. That's all that matters for any of us. There's another aspect to think about too . . .

Before you have a chance to take that last breath things could change in an instant. The trumpet of the Lord could sound and everyone who knows Jesus as their Savior will be gone, including all the Christians who have died. As the Bible says it . . . in the twinkling of an eye!

Thank You JESUS!!!

1 Corinthians 15:52

in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Whoa . . . isn't that cool!! Can you just imagine! It will be a great and glorious day if you know Jesus as your Savior. But if you don't . . . it will be the beginning of the worst time of your life!

Read the paper . . . watch the news . . . read the Bible. Then decide where you stand in relationship to the Lord.

How about you? Do you know where you are going when you take that last breath or if the trumpet blows? If you aren't sure there is a little prayer you can pray over on the sidebar. Don't take a chance with your life because life doesn't end here. Life goes on for eternity. Your eternity will either be in Heaven or Hell. It's your choice.

John 3:16

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 10:9

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 8:1

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

Your post is so much of what I had been thinking about. Last night I attended calling hours. It brought back so many challenging memories, but it also made me stop and think. When I breathe my last breath will my life have mattered? I am so thankful for where I will be when I take my last breath, but I also want to make sure that everyone I take now counts for the Kingdom. Many blessings Chelle!

I know where I'm going after my last breath and I know that what I will see will make this life look like a dream.

Blessings hon, looking forward to meeting you and all my other online brothers and sisters in glory.

Hi Chelle,
I am so glad that you have encouraged those who do not know the Lord to come to know Him. That is a commision we have been given and it is so important. That was why I felt a strong urge to open my second blog.
God bless you

Hi Chelle,
Thank you for sharing. This post brings back memories before I was saved. There were 3 times I know of where I should have died. It was only by God's grace and mercy I did not die. In fact, I only suffered minor injuries. One of the times I was a passenger in a vehicle which went off the road and flipped. What happened to me? Well half of my body went out an open window and I got pinned where the truck smashed down upon my back. I often think, "what if I died?" I would be in hell right now. All I can say is "thank you Jesus for keeping me alive until you saved me."
Blessings,
Ken
